Job Spotter App Review

App: Indeed Job Spotter

Type: Post Jobs

Verdict: Legitimate

In this Job Spotter review, I marked them legitimate, but it’s not an app that’s going to make you rich, and most people won’t feel like it’s worth your time. If you’re in a small city, this most likely won’t be worth it.

The only way I’d recommend the app is if you live in a big city where there’re several small businesses close by that you might already be going to. If that’s the case, you probably see hiring now signs all the time and could take pictures of the signs when you see them.

Still, not going to be a huge income, but can be an easy extra income, if you don’t have to go out of your way to find the hiring businesses.

How Does The Job Spotter App Work?

No Longer Available. Check out these apps that pay me!

1) Sign Up For Free

The Job Spotter app by Indeed is free to join; you can download it in your app store or visit JobSpotter.Indeed.com to get started.

2) Take Pictures Of Hiring Now Signs

The whole point of this app is for Indeed to find out about businesses hiring by placing a sign on their storefront. They are looking for small business that might not already be advertising their openings online. To earn a good amount of points you’ll need to find small businesses that hiring and take two photos.

The first photo should be a close up in focus photo of the help wanted sign.

The second photo should be a photo of the businesses storefront or a sign.

A few things to keep in mind when taking photos is making sure the photos are in focus, include all the information listed on the sign, and make sure people are not in the photo.

They have a detailed guide of what they’re looking for inside the app, so as long as you follow that you should have no problem getting your submissions approved!

3) Approval Process

Once you submit your two photos, Job Spotter will approve them and reward points based on a few different guidelines which include:

  • Small Business or Chain
  • Does It Mention Job Title on Sign
  • Quality of Photos

Depending on what type of sign you send in, the app will calculate a score from 10-150 points.

Based on what I’ve seen others say, you should be able to reach the cashout amount easily after submitting two small business signs.

4) Cash Out Gift Cards

Once you earn 100 points, you can cash out for a $1 Amazon gift card

Job Spotter App Rewards

The awesome thing about Job Spotter is the minimum cash out amount is 100 points which gets you a $1 Amazon gift card. Once you request a payout, you should receive your gift card code within two business days.

At this time there is no other cash out options.

Job Spotter App Complaints

Small Income

You’ll earn 10-100 points on most of your job postings, so each sign you post will make you less than $1. Most likely there isn’t a street with hundreds of hiring businesses right in a row, so this is going to be a very small extra income.

If you’re looking for a way to earn more check out these Extra Income Sites or how I make a full-time income online!

Location Based

You’ll need to take pictures of the actual business which means this is location-based and requires you to visit the business. I can guarantee that the small income won’t be worth it unless you happen to go to a store that’s hiring. Making a special trip to take a picture will not be worth the small income.

If you live in an area with a ton of small business hiring, this could be time efficient, but most will find that the little income is not worth it.

Duplicate Submissions

On their FAQs, they say that if someone else has already submitted a hiring business, you won’t receive any credit, which makes sense, but can limit your earnings if others in your area are using the app and are getting to the help wanted signs before you.

I don’t see a way to check if a job has already been submitted so you’ll just have to submit the photos and see if it’s approved or not, which is kind of a bummer.

Is the Job Spotter App A Scam?

No Longer Available. Check out these apps that pay me!

The Job Spotter App by Indeed is not a scam; it’s a legitimate way to make a small income if you come across small businesses that are hiring. With that being said, I feel like most of us won’t think this is worth it.

Realistically you can reach the cashout amount within two submissions pretty easily so it might be worth downloading and using when you come across a sign, but don’t expect this to be a huge income.

If you feel like it’s worth it, feel free to download the app on your smartphone or visit JobSpotter.Indeed.com to join.

I don’t live in an area that has enough businesses to make this worth using so if you’re like me, feel free to check out some of these helpful links:

  1. I do not recommend the Jobspotter app. Lately all I get is “network error” messages and there’s no way to submit the photos… I have reached out, and I get the same stock answers. Today I drove around for 2 hours getting hiring signs, and NONE of the could be submitted. I lost about 1,000 points. I won’t be using the app anymore 🙁

  2. Hi ,

thank you for this review. I have a similar opinion with you about the model jobspotter works. It’s more of a hobby rather a job in my opinion. The main reason is the low revenue it produces but given the time it takes for someone to take a photo and upload it I believe the payout is fair.
You have a great and honest review there.
