Get Started: Making Money Online

Welcome to my website, my name’s Brok and if you’re a first-time visitor you’re at the perfect post to learn about my site and the value I share with you.

The whole point of my website is to help you “make money online”. I do this a few different ways, first I find products that are complete scams and make sure you avoid them before spending time/money. The other way is by finding legitimate ways for you to make money online and recommending them, usually in the form of a review.

The first thing that I’d like to make clear is that I’m here to help you “make money online”, but that phrase means something different to everyone. I personally recommend one method over others, but that might not be the best option for you.

On this page I’ll cover some general categories, go through the pros and cons, so you can find out exactly what “making money online” really means to you!

Build Your Own Online Business

With this method, you’ll be learning how to build your own websites around a passion or hobby. There are many pros and a few cons to this method. This is personally what I do to make money online and if you’re a driven person you can make this happen.

Pros

  • Large Income Potential
  • Work For Yourself
  • Freedom To Work At Home
  • No Location Restrictions
  • Passive Income

 

Cons

  • Small Investment To Get Started ($50 or less)
  • Not Instant Income
  • Takes Hard Work (but everything does)

This is by far my favorite method to use to make money online, but I will say if you’re not looking to put in the time and work you might as well skip out on this and take a look at extra income.

Extra Income Methods

If you’re just looking to dabble with making money online and would like to test the waters, there is a few ways you can make a supplementary small income online. This isn’t skilled work and you really don’t have to learn anything, but the kickback on your time is very minimal.

Pros

  • No Skills Required
  • Get Paid For Things You Already Do
  • Can Be Quick Cash

Cons

  • $20-$50 Monthly Income
  • Terrible Per Hour Rate
  • Working For Someone Else
  • Country Restrictions

Although there are some major negatives of extra income sites, if you’re just looking for some extra cash to spend on the weekends, these sites can do the job. Don’t expect to build a long term online income with these sites, you’ll have to work for every cent you earn.

Work At Home Jobs

This method usually requires you to have some sort of skill, or you’ll basically be working for nothing. You will be working for someone else and just like extra income sites, there’s not really any passive income with this method.

Pros

  • Usually Stable Income
  • Ability To Work At Home
  • Usually Good Hourly Rate
  • Usually Flexible Schedule

Cons

  • Usually Need A Skill
  • Usually Need To Apply
  • Working For A Boss
  • No Passive Income

If you’re happy working for someone else, but are just looking for the freedom to work at home, these jobs are a good option for you.

Most work at home jobs do require you to apply and go through training, but can give you a steady income once you start working.

What Way Is Best For Me?

You have to be the one that decides exactly what you’re looking for and what goals you’d like to reach. I personally had dealt with extra income sites and knew that they weren’t going to give me the income I wanted. I also knew that I didn’t want to work from someone else, like I was already doing offline.

It was a no brainier for me, I wanted to start my own online business and have the freedom of working for myself, but that might not be for you.

      Thanks for reading and you’re correct that I haven’t been publishing any content for awhile (that’s about to change) but through this time I have been updating information.     I just read your e-mail about how to chose which way we want to earn money.
    There are a couple of things that I think im good at such as writing, amateur psychology, critisism and I went to geology school. And I alredy worked in grosery store and it was very stressful. Since i havent finished any collage I have a hard time finding a job i can do since im very slow in everything. Could i do any of jobs above? Without any problem and to do what I love to do (writing, critisism) ?

  15. Hello brok, thank you so very much for your guidance. I have to read your emails once again more catefully as there is so much I need to be clear about before I decide what I can take up.
    To summarize about my past, I was working for an American professor since 1988. To start with, I was taken as a research assistant. Inbetween I took a break and completed my thesis and rejoined work in the American project.
    I worked for her upto 2015. She wound up her project gradually. Mean while I was also worked part time in the Indian context research. The American was on cross culture. The Indian was in social sciences.
    I also took part time teaching Psychology to undergraduates and graduates.
    2 years back I developed severe vertigo problems and had to give up all my work. In 2018 Jan, a student recommended me to yry an American food supplement called Herbalife. I have completely recovered now.
    My memory gives me problem sometimes. However, I cant get back my previous positions.
    Now, I want to spend time doing something interesting and also earn some decent income.
    I would lije to thank you again for all the trouble you have taken in sending me these emails.

  22. Hello, I would like to share with you about a great app, generating you a passive income. You do nothing, just earn by receiving paid sms.
    You get 2 eurocents for each message you receive (once received, you just delete it).

    Thank-you for this interesting post. I agree with your methodology.

    I am presently using the authority website/blog model that Wealthy Affiliate teaches. I agree having a strong foundation is paramount.

    The problem I am having is with written content. It takes me ages to do the research and writing. I know this is the best way to build an online business and it will provide long-lasting benefits for years to come. I just wish I could make the process faster.

    What do you think about curation? Charlie Page teaches his students to use it. Is it something you would advise me using to speed up the content production process?

    Also, I want to start a list on my WA promotional site. When should I begin the list building process?

      I will say that creating content becomes easier the more you do it. I basically have a template all of my reviews/list posts follow. At this point it’s basically just filling in the blanks with correct/relevant information.

      I would say when starting out curating probably won’t speed up the process much, but down the road when you need to find information about companies quickly having the information readily available can speed up a list post.

      I’m assuming you mean an email list? Right away. Even if you only get 1 subscriber a day it’s still worth paying to build a list because it leads to long-term success.

    Just found your site. Impressive. I was googling nicequest and BevRage to see if they were legit. I have been doing surveys for about 20 years. And also do a little mystery shopping too. So back to you. I love your website. I was happy to find an app that pays you for your alcohol purchases. I like that you go indepth on everything. And it looks like you keep everything current! Most don’t …. Like those who report that NCPonline has openings and you get a scanner. I don’t think they give scanners out anymore because they have an app!

    I like having apps on my phone and tablet.. and have several that do passive points…or pop up a survey. Media Insiders just recently closed their doors. but I have Mobile Performance Meter, AppOptix, Nielsen Mobile App, Google Opinion Rewards …

    • Amy,

      Pretty much everything that I recommend will send you a 1099 if you make over $600 in a year. If you make less then that you won’t receive anything. A few of the work at home jobs actually hire you as an employee, so taxes are taken out with each pay check.

      But most are “independent contractor” where you’ll have to report income if you make over $600 in a year.

      What type of income are you looking for? I would recommend checking out some extra income sites to get started with if you’re looking for some quicker extra cash, but building a website can be much a much larger income if you work at it.
