One of the more popular ways to work at home and make money online is through general transcription. Today I’d like to cover a list of transcription sites that accept beginners and do not require any experience to join.
Let me first say that transcription is not as easy as it sounds. I’ll cover some of the skills you’ll need later on, but know that if you’re a beginner, it takes some time to master the craft. That’s why I highly recommend checking out the course at TranscribeAnywhere. The course will teach you how to transcribe and how to find high-paying transcription jobs. Transcription is an awesome way to make money online and if you’re successful you can make a decent income. With that being said, it’s not the easiest way to make a good living online, check out My #1 Recommendation to learn how I made over $13,000 last month online!
Here’s my list of transcription jobs that don’t require experience. I’ll go into some general details about each site, but you can read my review to learn more about the particular job.
What Is General Transcription?
Transcription is listening to an audio file and typing it out in a word processor. There’re different types of transcription, but the basic level is considered general transcription.
General transcription means that you do not need any specific background on a subject. For example, medical and legal are also types of transcription, but you need background knowledge (extra training) to do that type of transcribing.
General transcription is the easiest and is where you’ll have to start as a beginning transcriber.
What Does A Transcriber Need?
The requirements for the sites listed below differ, but here’s an overview of the skills and equipment you’ll need to get started.
In the skills department, you’ll need to be a good listener and fast/accurate typist. Your pay is dependent on how fast you can transcribe, being a fast typist makes it much easier to complete transcription files faster.
Equipment wise, you’ll need a computer that has high-speed internet access, a high-quality headset, and a foot pedal.
On some of these sites the headset and foot pedal are optional, but investing in these tools will help you transcribe faster, which means more money.
