TeeSpring Review: Can You Really Make Money Designing Shirts?

TeeSpring lets you design clothing to list for sale on their site. If you’re creative, this might be a great way for you to make some extra income.

The impressive thing about TeeSpring is they handle the printing, shipping, and customer service. All you need to do is design the product and make sales.

Getting paid to design t-shirt is an awesome way to make money online, but I prefer to make a full-time income online a different way, check out My #1 Recommendation, it’s how I made over $13,000 online last month!

In this TeeSpring review, I’ll cover how it works, how you get paid, and any complaints from other members.

How Does TeeSpring Work

1. Join For Free

Joining and creating a design to sell is completely free on TeeSpring. Visit TeeSpring.com to sign up for an account to start the process.

2. Create Your Design

The next step is to choose what type of product you’d like to make. TeeSpring lets you design t-shirts, sweatshirts, stickers, totes, and mugs. They have a built-in editor that allows you to create your shirt or you can upload an image. As you create your design, it shows how much it costs to make the product.

3. Choose A Price & Quantity

Once you’re done creating the product, it’s time to choose the selling price and quantity. The way TeeSpring works is you must choose a minimum amount to be sold, if you don’t reach that total, they do not print your product.

Make sure to pick a quantity that you can reach, but the larger the minimum amount, the cheaper the base price is.

TeeSpring suggests a selling price for your item, but you can modify it to adjust your earnings per sale. TeeSpring shows you your estimated earnings if you meet your goal before you move on to the next step.

4. Describe Your Product

The next step is to describe your product and choose the duration of the sale. You can choose between 2-21 days.

5. Promote, Promote, Promote

Once you’re done, your product will go live, and it’s your job to promote your product and meet the minimum goal requirement. They have a “university” that covers how to market your product. They teach a lot about finding your niche and promoting your item to your niche on Facebook.

6. Get Paid!

As long as you meet the minimal order amount, you’ll get paid. They pay via PayPal, Direct Deposit, or mailed check.

How Does TeeSpring Pay?

If you reach the minimum order amount, your earnings become available within 48 hours. You can request a payout via PayPal, Direct Deposit, or Mailed Check. PayPal and Direct Deposit payments are much quicker and usually show up within 48 hours, while check payments can take 1-3 weeks.

If you become successful and earn over $600 in a year, you’re required to report the income come tax time. TeeSpring will need you to fill out a w-9 and will send you a 1099 at the end of the year.

TeeSpring Complaints

A few weeks ago I reviewed a site called Zazzle. It’s a very similar site, but Zazzle seems to be more of a long-term sell of your products while TeeSpring is for a short duration. Some of you may feel like this is an advantage, but it requires you to create new designs and run new campaigns to continue to earn money.

It seems that TeeSpring is set up for people who have access to a large audience that’s interested in getting branded products. For example, I see Youtubers do this all the time. They have thousands or millions of followers that are interested in anything they create. They design a shirt and put it up for a limited period and can make a lot of money.

Not to say you can’t make sales if you don’t have an audience of thousands of people, but you’ll probably have to start with a small minimum order, which will lower your profits.

Make sure to check out the training they provide, to get started on the right foot.

Is TeeSpring Legitimate?

TeeSpring is a legitimate site that pays you to design shirts and sell them, as long as you can meet your minimum order amount! If you’re creative and design shirts people are interested in, you can make good money on this site.

I will say, having an existing large audience will help, but you have to start somewhere. I highly recommend reading the training at TeeSpring University. You can learn a lot of great information about how the whole process works.

If you’d like to learn more or to join, visit TeeSpring.com.

Not a creative person? You can still make money on TeeSpring, but you’ll need to pay someone to design your shirt. A perfect place to do so is at Fiverr.com; all designs start at just $5.

    • If you visit your TeeSpring settings you’ll see all of the advertising options. Make sure to have them all checked. The cut they take is bigger but if you’re trying to get it going it’s a good idea to make as many sales as possible even if you make less.

You can also share your link on social media. I’m sure you can find several Veteran related Facebook groups that you can join and share your designs there.

      Hope this helps,

  2. Hello, I really appreciate you taking the time to read my question. I have health problems for over 20 years with many problems attached to them. I would like to start a blog to help people because I made so many mistakes along my journey and can help with there medical problems. What is the easiest and cheapest way to start. I’m on disability so money is an object but I really feel I can help people and I know there is so many scams out there trying to get you to buy everything just to teach you how to blog. Do you know? Sincerely and Happy New Year, Kelly
