OneSpace was founded in 2010 in Illinois, which I find interesting since I’m from Illinois. They contract with freelancers to get the job done. In this review, I will look at the work at home opportunity with OneSpace.

OneSpace Requirements

If you’re a writer, transcriber, editor, designer, or you have some other ability as a freelancer; you might find work here. The website does not seem to list any requirements to apply. Once you set up an account, you will take tests to see what work you will qualify for.

I didn’t see anything about privacy requirements, or phone or internet requirements. All work will be done online, so if you have reliable internet and a computer to work on, it sounds like you’ll be good to go.

How Does OneSpace Work?

They basically have a platform to manage your freelance career. You’ll set up your account and take qualification tests. This is how they determine that you are an expert in a given topic or field. Then when you search for jobs, you will see jobs where you fit the needs of the clients.

The OneSpace unique system helps clients break their projects down into sections. So you don’t have to know how to complete the whole project, just your part of it.

How Much Does OneSpace Pay?

Clients are quoted a fee for each job they post. The fee is what the client is contractually agreeing to pay the freelancer to complete the job. Upon approved completion of a job, the client pays the freelancer. At the same time, the client also pays a fee to OneSpace. The fee does not come out of the freelancer’s payment but instead is a separate transaction fee between the client and OneSpace.

When Does OneSpace Pay?

OneSpace does daily payments via PayPal. When your work is approved, you get paid immediately. The platform allows you to easily monitor your income history.

OneSpace Schedule

You can set your own schedule when you freelance with OneSpace. Freelancers can choose work from a catalog of tasks, which means you can pick and choose your jobs, and also when you work. You’re able to work as much or as little as you want, and you can submit your work from anywhere that you have internet access.

OneSpace Feedback

I found some feedback on Glassdoor. I narrowed the search to contract and freelance reviews and found only 3 reviews. One current freelancer recommends OneSpace, stating the work is interesting, and pay is reasonable. However, work is not always available. (Remember that you will take tests to qualify for jobs, so the more you qualify for, the more work that will be available to you.)

The other 2 reviewers don’t recommend. They still have the same pros: work from home, interesting writing jobs, and fair guidelines. But they said the work is slow, and since OneSpace lost a large client in 2016, work has slowed even more. They claim that the OneSpace staff picks favorites among the freelancers and will give them extra work.

Is Working for OneSpace a Scam?

Based on my research, OneSpace is NOT a scam! I’m seriously thinking about setting up an account for myself! If you have any freelance skills whatsoever, it can’t hurt to set up an account and see what you can do. It might not be enough for full-time, but you can certainly work on honing your skills. Go here if you want to apply.

It looks like OneSpace most likely won’t always be able to keep you busy. If you’re interested in freelance work, make sure to check out our Work At Home Directory to see other sites hiring now!
