Recently I wrote about a company called LionBridge that I said was a bit different then most of the reviews I put out. LeapForce falls into the same category, this site is more of a work from home opportunity where you will be an independent contractor for the company.

Although it’s a bit different LeapForce is still a 100% legitimate way to make money online and work from home.

Is LeapForce A Scam?

LeapForce is not a scam, it’s a legitimate work from home company that will hire you. So let’s go ahead and get into the exact details of what you will experience with this company.

What Do You Do?

Your job with this company will be as a search engine evaluator. If you’ve ever typed something into Google and got some odd results you’re familiar with what you will be doing. Basically your job will be to find irrelevant content in search engine results and mark them as irrelevant.

There are a lot of strict guidelines you will need to follow, but that actually makes your job easier because you know exactly what results you’re looking to mark irrelevant.

What Do You Need?

LeapForce has some pretty obvious requirements along with some things you may not have thought of. The obvious requirements are a computer, a secure high speed internet connection, and 18 years of age or older.

Some of the skills you will need is a basic understanding of search engines along with written and spoken fluency in English. This site is available internationally, so I’m assuming the basic language requirement has to do with what country you’re in. But the majority of my readers come from the US and you will need to past a test proving you passed grammar class.

The next requirements have to do with passing 2 lengthy written tests that must be passed the first time. You will not be given a second chance to past the tests so you need to review the information they provide in depth to make sure your prepared.

How Will I Get Paid?

Unfortunately all LeapForce workers have signed an agreement saying they won’t disclose their earnings, that means I have no idea how much people are getting paid. But it give you an idea a similar company pays around $12-$14 an hour.

They do release that workers will have to send in their hours every month to get paid and that you will receive payments by Check.

One last thing to remember is you’re an independent contractor so taxes will not be taken out of your checks. You will need to do those calculations on your own when it becomes tax time.

LeapForce Concerns

Not Sure On How Much You Get Paid

I understand that LeapForce doesn’t want incomes published, but it’s a bit of a bummer that you don’t know how much you will be getting paid going in. I’m not for sure what time in the application process you’re told, but most likely not until you complete your tests and pass.

Either way my general idea based on similar companies is $10-$14 an hour, but I really have no way of giving you a definite answer.

Hard Tests

Like mentioned above, you will need to complete two written tests and pass your first try to be accepted into the program. The tests mainly cover information about search engines and how results are generated.

This kind of sucks because some people just don’t take tests well, which might leave you out of this opportunity.

Taxes On You

This isn’t a concern that is only with LeapForce, but with most ways of making money online. You will be paid as an independent contractor with most opportunities which means you will not have any taxes taken out of your checks.

This means when it comes tax time it’s up to you or your tax professional to calculate the amount of taxes that need to be paid.

Like I said this isn’t as much of a concern as just something you need to be aware of!

You Still Have A Boss

The last concern I have with LeapForce might not even apply to you, but it has to do with having a boss. Most people who are looking for work at home opportunities are fed up with having a boss and answering to people all day.

Although this opportunity does allow you to work from home you will still have requirements and a company to answer to. This may not be a problem for most, but from what I’ve found a driving force behind people wanting to work from home has to do with independence and being your own boss.

Is LeapForce Legitimate?

LeapForce seems to be a scam-free legitimate company to get involved with. It’s very similar to a company that I recently reviewed called LionBridge and they both have positive reviews and proof of people working and making money with these companies.

Of course, just like all offline business, they do have their own set of drawbacks and problems, but there is nothing about this company that sets off any scam or major problem alarms. To learn more about LeapForce visit their website here.
