InstaGC used to be one of those rewards sites people could count on for small but regular gift card payouts. Back in the day, I cashed out many times and put InstaGC to good use, nabbing some Amazon gift cards for instant shopping. But a lot has shifted in recent years, so it’s important to know the facts before joining up.
For years, InstaGC looked solid, but as of 2025, things are different. The site’s reputation has taken a hit, with a steady rise in warnings from ex-users and community watchdogs about missing payments, locked accounts, and a total lack of response from support. If you’re wondering whether InstaGC is still on the level or if you’re better off skipping it, here’s what you need to know.
TL;DR: InstaGC used to be one of my favorite rewards sites — I cashed out many times over the years and always got paid. Unfortunately, things have changed. Recently, my latest cash out was never processed, and reports from other users confirm that payments have slowed or stopped altogether. While InstaGC was once a legit way to earn free gift cards and extra cash, I can no longer recommend it since it’s no longer consistently paying members.
Here are the Legitimate Side Hustles that are still paying members in 2025.

What Is InstaGC?
InstaGC is a rewards website that launched in 2011. It built a following by promising quick gift card rewards for completing small online tasks, such as surveys, offers, and watching short videos. As the name suggests, “Instant Gift Cards” meant rewards were once delivered in no time at all. It was a classic GPT (Get Paid To) platform, finding a loyal user base, especially in English-speaking countries.
Unlike some flashy apps, InstaGC had a basic interface. You’d log in to a dashboard with available offers and surveys, rack up points, and swap them for digital gift cards to places like Amazon or Walmart. The main attraction was a low $1 payout threshold and lightning-fast redemptions, which made it super easy to snag gift cards without a fuss. In recent times, though, this process hasn’t been so smooth.
How Does InstaGC Work?
Getting started with InstaGC was simple. Register a free account with your email, pick a password, and verify your account. There was never a mobile app; instead, you used the website for everything.
You could select from a range of tasks to accumulate points. One hundred points equaled $1. Rewards typically included digital gift cards like Amazon, Steam, and iTunes, with PayPal sometimes available depending on your country and verification. The redemption process used to be quick, sometimes just a few minutes.
Lately, though, users are reporting more difficulties than before: payout delays, unresponsive support, and accounts freezing have become more common, making it harder to trust the system.
Ways to Earn on InstaGC
If you’re curious about what InstaGC once offered, here’s a quick highlight reel—even though some choices were always limited based on where you lived or the time of year.

- Surveys: Partner sites sent you to survey routers like YourSurveys or Peanut Labs. Surveys paid anywhere from a few cents to a couple dollars.
- Offer Walls: Sign up for free trials, install apps, register for memberships, or try products (sometimes requiring payment) in exchange for points.
- Video Ads: Watch short videos, often on third party platforms, for a handful of points. Most folks found this the slowest way to earn.
- Search: Using InstaGC’s built-in search engine occasionally scored you some points, but rewards were rare.
- Referring Friends: Earn 10% of your referrals’ earnings for life, making this one of the best ways to build points passively.
Earning points on InstaGC was pretty straightforward, though the big point earners usually took more time or required a lot of personal info for surveys. Qualifying for some surveys could also be a struggle, which added to the challenge.
How Do You Get Paid on InstaGC?
For a long stretch, getting paid with InstaGC was quick and easy. Earn just 100 points ($1) and you could redeem for digital gift cards. There were hundreds of gift card choices, and for a while, it was possible to cash out through PayPal or even bank transfer if you did extra account verification.
Redemptions usually processed fast; I recall them taking five minutes or less when things were going well. New users or those redeeming bigger rewards sometimes had to go through a verification step, but overall, the system won a lot of fans because of its speed.
More recently, however, user reviews now mention long waits, missing redemptions, and digital codes that simply never arrive, especially for larger payouts. Sometimes support eventually acts, but too often there’s no response—something I’ve experienced firsthand too. As a result, InstaGC’s reliability now leaves a lot to be desired.
Proof That InstaGC Pays
Browse Reddit or older blog posts, and you’ll see plenty of screenshots from people earning InstaGC rewards in the past. Personally, I’ve snagged $1 to $10 Amazon gift cards over several years, receiving digital codes instantly after cashing out.
However, since mid-2022, the number of happy payment proofs has seriously dropped. These days, there are way more complaints about cashouts being delayed for weeks or vanishing into thin air with no word from support. Compared to years past, new stories of successful InstaGC payments are extremely rare now.
Here’s a screenshot of a payment that I’m still waiting on from April 2025:

How Much Can You Really Earn With InstaGC?
Even at its best, earning with InstaGC was modest. The most committed users managed $20 to $50 monthly in gift cards, but only by spending hours every week on surveys and offers. For most, $5 to $15 a month was normal, unless you brought in a lot of referrals or put in daily effort.
Earnings also depended on your location—US and UK users got more opportunities, while others barely had any. With payments now drying up and fewer successful redemptions, the realistic earning potential is basically zero these days. I haven’t come across any reliable evidence of steady payouts to new users in the last year.
Who Can Join InstaGC? (Worldwide Availability)
InstaGC advertised itself as open worldwide, but most surveys and offers only showed up for people in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. If you joined from somewhere else, your dashboard likely looked bare with only a few low-paying tasks—if any appeared at all.
Lately, it’s gotten tougher for everyone, even in those core countries. There are multiple reports of new accounts flagged for “suspicious activity” almost immediately—sometimes locking users out before they earn any points. This makes signing up and cashing out even less promising than before.
Here are the extra income sites available worldwide that I recommend.
InstaGC Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Low minimum payout: Just $1 was enough to redeem a gift card (when it worked)
- Large selection of gift cards: Hundreds of digital options were available
- Simple site design: No app installation; do everything on one website
- Earn from referrals: The 10% referral bonus could stack up quickly if you brought friends on board
Cons:
- Payouts have ground to a halt: The biggest downside: few real payments seem to be happening now
- Support is unresponsive: Many tickets are ignored, and user messages just go unanswered
- Accounts randomly deactivated: Long-time users sometimes lose access right before cashing out rewards
- Clunky, outdated website: The layout is old, slow, and occasionally buggy
- Very limited earning for non-US/UK/CA/AU users: If you’re from anywhere else, earning options are nearly nonexistent
Is InstaGC Legit or a Scam?
Once, InstaGC was a trustworthy site that paid regularly for simple online tasks. But things have changed. InstaGC no longer pays out reliably, and problems like deactivated accounts or silent support are becoming more widespread.
With the number of complaints about payment, I feel like we can now call InstaGC a scam. That’s why I can’t suggest InstaGC now and most likely won’t ever again; you’d be better off choosing a site that stays current with reliable payouts and active support.
Final Verdict: Is InstaGC Worth Your Time?
Based on my experience and the consistent wave of negative reviews through 2025, InstaGC is no longer worth your time. It used to be a great source for quick gift cards, but those days are behind us. Unpaid rewards and ignored support are huge problems that make it hard to trust the site going forward.
If you’re hoping to make pocket cash doing surveys and small online tasks, there are better, more reliable reward sites out there. Check out my suggestions below to find options that really pay.
Best Alternatives to InstaGC
- Swagbucks – This giant in the rewards space pays regularly and offers tons of ways to collect points for gift cards or PayPal cash. It remains popular and still has lots of new proof that payouts are happening.
- PaidViewpoint – Known for its short, easy surveys and solid record of paying out even small balances.
- All the Side Hustles that Pay me – this is my main list of extra income sites that I keep updating frequently.
- Side Hustles available Worldwide – not in the US? This list is for you.
If you want to earn small but steady cash or gift cards from survey sites, look for active, trustworthy platforms. Take a moment to do your research and you’ll waste less time and frustration, scoring some reward money with less effort. InstaGC was good in its time, but better options exist now.
Hai Brok. Im a student and from Malaysia. its my first time to start an online job. can u give me an advice or recommendations for doing this job. Im just want a part time job.
Hey Tyra,
Glad you’re interested in making money online.
First off, InstaGC isn’t going to be a job, just a site that you can use to complete tasks and earn extra money. Don’t expect a huge income from this you’ll just be earning a few cents per task.
With that being said it is legitimate and can be a way to earn a little extra money.
Finding an actual work from home job in your country might be difficult, but you can visit my Work From Home Jobs Page and see if anyone is hiring in your country.
You can also check out My #1 Recommendation, it works in any country that you have an internet connection.
Hope this helps if you need anything else let me know.

It really is a nice site. Worth mentioning that you have to be a regular member if you want to use their search engine. Otherwise, you won’t be able to use it within a few days.
I have it set as my default search to remind me to use the site. But if you’re new, a link to search is at the bottom of their page since it’s available only to UK and US members. I found out about this from their chatroom.
InstaGC usually has a winter contest where you can earn an extra percentage of points so that’s also nice. In addition, they sometimes release codes on their Facebook page and their chatroom.
Thanks for letting me know that the search is only US and UK, I’ve always been able to set it as my default as you said so wasn’t aware of that.
Also, thanks for sharing your experience with InstaGC, any information about the company and user experiences is very helpful!

Hi, please I live in Africa, Ghana to be precise. Can I get some online jobs to do. No PayPal in my country.
InstaGC should be available to you, you’d just have to get paid other than PayPal.
But here’re some other sites that are available worldwide.
Brok
Dear Brok,
I have registered this site, but they require me as follow:
“Registrations from Thailand requires a verified PayPal account. If you do not have a verified PayPal, please stop now and return to complete registration once you do.”
I have a required verified PayPal account, but I know where I can submit to them. Please advise where I can fill in or submit my verified PayPal account as requested.
Thanks
Nat
Hey,
Go ahead and continue to sign up. They say that because that’s how you’ll need to get paid.
Basically letting you know that you’ll need a PayPal account to get paid and if you don’t have one this site is not worth your time.
You should be able to add your PayPal account once you complete the sign-up process.
Hope this helps,
Brok

Thobisa,
I’m not sure why it’s not letting you join, it’s supposed to be available worldwide but I guess it’s restricted in some countries.
Try this list of sites available worldwide and see if you can join any.
Hope this helps,
Brok
Hi,
Just wanted to take a moment to let you know instaGC now has PayPal available as a reward.
I’d also like to comment in on my experience with instaGC. While I am a MOD on the site, I am also a member. I have earned $3,856.79 total with the site since 2012. I don’t have very much time for doing offers myself since I spend my time helping others on the site, but I have still managed to do well :).
Mrs. S,
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with InstaGC. I will make sure to change the review around to meet it’s updates and congrats on being such a big part of a successful site.
Thanks for sharing,
Brok
