InfoBarrel Review

Site: InfoBarrel

Type: Freelance Writing

Verdict: Legitimate

In this InfoBarrel Review I marked it legitimate, but let me say that most freelance writers prefer up front writing jobs than revenue sharing sites.

Although most revenue sharing sites have more authority than other sites, there’s still tons of competition, and you’ll need to drive a ton of traffic to make good money with ad revenue.

If you’re okay with earning 75% of the ad revenue your content generates, it seems like InfoBarrel is a decent excellent site that offers a wide variety of writing categories.

How Does InfoBarrel Work?

InfoBarrel Requirements

The requirements to write for InfoBarrel are very simple. You’ll need a PayPal account to get paid and a computer with internet access to write and upload your content.

You’ll need to give them your full name, mailing address, and PayPal email when signing up. There is no application or writing test to create an account.

Creating Content

As an InfoBarrel writer, you can upload content in the following categories: Business, Entertainment, Health, Home, Lifestyle, Tech, Travel, Auto, History, and Sports.

To start creating content, you’ll need to choose the Title of your post. They will automatically make sure it’s available and if it is you can begin writing.

Here’re are the writing requirements:

  • At least 325 Words Long
  • Must be original content
  • Can’t be a promotional post (needs to be informative)
  • Must be written in proper English with no mistakes
  • No external links in the first paragraph
  • Maximum of two links
  • Must contain value for a reader

Once you’re done writing your post, you can preview it and then submit it. All content must be approved by InfoBarrel before it’s published. This usually happens within 48 hours.

If you get denied, they tell you why and you can make changes and resubmit. Once your post is approved, it’s published on the InfoBarrel site, where you’ll generate ad revenue.

How Does InfoBarrel Pay?

InfoBarrel pays you 75% of the ad revenue your content generates. They have a detailed members area that shows you all of your posts, their monthly page views, and the estimated ad revenue you’ve generated.

At the end of the month, all ad revenue is confirmed, and your account balance is updated. InfoBarrel pays via PayPal once you have $50 in your account.

They pay 45 days after the 1st of the month. For example, if you end August with over $50 in earnings you’ll receive it around October 15th.

InfoBarrel Referral Program

InfoBarrel does have a referral program. You’ll earn 2% of the ad revenue your referrals earn for life. They give you a unique referral URL that you can share with your friends or post on your blog.

InfoBarrel Complaints

Google No Longer Likes Content Mills

A few years back, Google ranked content mills pretty high in search results. The whole idea was to post your content on one of these sites that had a domain name with much more authority. In return, you’d receive more traffic and make more money.

Google no longer ranks these sites well which makes it nearly impossible to drive any organic search traffic to your content.

If you have a means of driving a ton of traffic to your page through a list or social media it could work, but why would you not start a website and drive them there.

Shared Revenue

InfoBarrel takes a 25% cut of the ad revenue your content generates.

Is InfoBarrel A Scam?

InfoBarrel is not a scam; they will pay you your earnings that your content generates. With that being said, it seems that Freelance writers prefer to write for upfront pay, which I totally get. Revenue sharing sites seem to be more of a long-term smaller income, but it just depends on what you’re looking for.

Freelance writing is great, but have you ever thought about starting your own blog and writing for yourself? Think about it; you own the site, so you get to keep 100% of the ad revenue instead of sharing it with someone else! My #1 Recommendation will show you how for completely free.

1 thought on “InfoBarrel Review: Is InfoBarrel A Revenue Sharing Scam?”

  1. I’ve used InfoBarrel and can’t recommend it. First it draws no traffic. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly I was unable to control my content once published. I wanted to delete a couple of articles and there is no way to do it. Supposedly you can contact Admin to request deletion, but unfortunately you get no response. You can go into “edit” and delete the body of the article, but that is simply rejected and the article remains. As an author you have NO control.
