Today I’d like to cover three ways you can maximize your cashback earning at Walmart. I’m going to recommend a few apps and sites that you can use to receive cash back on every purchase you make at Walmart.
In no way am I a financial manager, so I won’t be recommending a Walmart credit card or any credit card that offers cash back. With that being said, you can earn even more if you use a credit card that pays cash back to make purchases at Walmart.
This process is relatively simple but does require you to sign up for a few free sites and apps. The main app is going to pay you for any purchase you make in-store or at Walmart.com. Depending on if you shop in-store or online will determine which site you use next.
Don’t worry I’ll tell you all about the sites you’ll be using and how to the process works in detail below!
Let’s get started, here’re three ways you can maximize your cashback while shopping at Walmart.
3 Ways To Earn Max CashBack At Walmart
1) Drop App – Read Review – $1 Sign-Up Bonus
10 Points per $1 Spent At Walmart
So the first app you need to join to maximize your cash back at Walmart is called Drop. Drop is free to join and pays you cashback to popular stores like Walmart, Target, McDonald’s, and many more.
All you need to do is link your debit/credit card inside the Drop app. Once you purchase at Walmart, you’ll earn 10 points per $1 spent.
Once you make a purchase, you’ll see points show up inside the app within five days.
Once you earn 5,000 points, you can exchange them for $5 gift cards to Starbucks, Amazon, and several other retailers.
Here’s proof that the Drop app pays:

Once you join Drop, you’ll earn points for every purchase you make online or in-store at Walmart. But to make more, you’ll need to use a specific site based on if you shop in-store or online. Here’re the options to maximize your cash back!
In-store Option: Ibotta – Read Review – $10 Sign-Up Bonus
$.50 -$2.50 per qualifying grocery item!
Ibotta is a cashback app that pays you to buy specific items at Walmart. Most of the offers are grocery related, but they also have offers in electronics, home, beauty, alcohol, kid’s, and a few other categories.
Most of the offers are going to pay $.50-$2.50, but some pay much more if the item is expensive or it’s a combo offer that makes you purchase multiple items.
All you need to do is shop in-store and save your receipt. Open the Ibotta app and find any items that bought and then scan your receipt. Within a few hours, Ibotta will approve your receipt and deposit cash back into your account.
Once you earn $20, you can get paid via PayPal, Venmo, Walmart, Amazon, iTunes, and a few other gift cards.

Online Option: Ebates – Read Review – $10 Sign-Up Bonus
1% CashBack on online purchases at Walmart
If you decide to make a purchase online at Walmart.com, the Ibotta app won’t work. It’s only for in-store purchases. You’ll still earn points through Drop (as long as you use a card that’s linked,) but you’ll need to use a site called Ebates to earn max cash back online.
Ebates is an online shopping portal that pays cash back to over 2,000 stores, including Walmart. Ebates is free to join and extremely easy to use.
All you need to do is visit Ebates and click on the link to Walmart.com. Once you’re on the site, you can shop normally and when you’re ready, add items to your cart and make a purchase.
When shopping at Walmart, you’ll earn an additional 1% cashback for using Ebates.
Ebates pays quarterly once you have $10 in your account via check, PayPal, or Direct Deposit.

The key to maximize earnings is to use the credit card that’s linked to Drop with either Ibotta for in-store purchases or Ebates for online purchases. That way you’ll earn for the initial purchase through Drop, and then you’ll also earn for qualifying items or a percentage of what you spend!
As long as you use the card you linked with Drop, you’ll be maximizing your cashback at Walmart!
