FreelanceMyWay Requirements
Freelancers must submit an application and go through a three-step verification process. This assures a high level of quality of all freelancers.
You must be 16 or older to sign up for work with FreelanceMyWay.
All freelancers work as independent contractors. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for your own taxes and income reporting based on the laws of your state.
How Do I Find Jobs with FreelanceMyWay
There are two ways you can find jobs with FreelanceMyWay. One is to be found by an employer based on your profile. The other is to search out jobs that have been posted by employers.
You can search for posted jobs after your application has been reviewed and accepted. Unfortunately, you can’t search for jobs until you’ve been accepted.
FreelanceMyWay doesn’t change any monthly fees. They also don’t have any restrictions on the number of bids you can place for jobs.
How to Set Up Your Profile on FreelanceMyWay
You want to create a good profile so that employers can find you. Before posting a job, employers can search profiles to see if they find someone who looks like they could be a good fit. They’re going to look at your skills and experiences, so you want to be thorough.
To sign up as a freelancer: go here to start the process. You’ll give the following info:
- Name (last name stays private)
- You’ll create a password
- Select your country
- Select if you want to “Hire for a project” or “Work as a freelancer”
- Agree to the terms of service
- Click: Sign Up
After you sign up, you’ll need to verify your email address to access FreelanceMyWay. I received the email right away, and it was a one-click verification. Once you’re in your account, click on your name to see the drop-down menu.
This drop-down menu is where you will find a history of everything you’ve done on the site. This is where you will edit your profile, change your email preferences or password, see payments, proposals, jobs, and messages.
To set up your profile: click on Edit Profile. Once you’ve signed up, you’re not done! You will find the application within the Edit Profile section. You have to verify your phone number and complete the application in order for the FreelanceMyWay team to review your profile – so you can get jobs!
To complete the application: you need to upload a profile image and give your PayPal email address so you can get paid. Here is the other info they ask throughout the application:
- Create a professional title that describes the work you do
- Write a brief professional overview
- Select your English proficiency from a drop-down menu
- Select keywords to define your skills (this one is nice because you can start to type what you know, and options will come up)
- Next is the education section
- Then employment history
- Contact details
- The last section of the application is a portfolio; you need to give it a name, describe it, and then upload images of your work and achievements
Once you submit your application, it says to allow 24 to 48 hours for your application to be reviewed.
Note: as I was trying to create my profile, I had an issue where it said my email was already in use. I went to the contact section and emailed for support. I received a prompt response, and the issue was resolved. So if you have this problem, just contact them for support.
How Much Can You Make with FreelanceMyWay
How much you can make with FreelanceMyWay really depends on the jobs you take, as well as your qualifications, skill level, and success rate. FreelanceMyWay charges freelancers a 20% service fee on any earnings. This fee might seem high, but it is standard for this type of a job site. If you read my post about Upwork, then you know they charge the same 20%.
While you can’t search for jobs until your application has been approved, you CAN view closed jobs. What you can see from this is what kind of jobs have been posted, and how many bids were received for that job posting.
How Do I Get Paid with FreelanceMyWay
FreelanceMyWay guarantees you’ll be paid on time. Clients are required to make a deposit prior to you beginning work. They have a milestone system for paying freelancers. When you reach certain project milestones, once the client approves your work up to that milestone, money is released to you.
You’ll be paid via PayPal.
FreelanceMyWay Schedule
Freelance work is virtual, and you can do it from anywhere. FreelanceMyWay makes it easy to manage your jobs from where ever your remote office is located. Your schedule will be what you make it! It will depend on the kind of jobs you accept and how quickly the employer needs it.
Is Freelancing for FreelanceMyWay a Scam?
Based on my research, FreelanceMyWay is not a scam. It’s hard to determine how much the jobs are worth, but reason says that since the freelancers are vetted, the quality of the workforce is going to be higher, and therefore the pay ranges should be higher to match. If you want to apply, click here to get your application started.

Thanks for the tips, and the review!
I have a number of friends looking into freelance work, and I’ve considered myself, but always wondered how you can get in touch with people looking to hire freelancers.
This resource seems really useful. Does it have opportunities for freelancers of almost any kind? How about writers and bloggers?
Thanks again for sharing!
