4 Things You Should Do Immediately After Posting New Content On Your Site

  1. Add a link to your new content to all of your social sites: If you are not using social networks to promote your website I would highly recommend it. It is a great way to connect and promote your website and doesn’t need people searching for it through search engines. You should be adding your site to all the social networks you are active in. I would recommend at least having a Facebook Page, Twitter Account, Google + Account, Pinterest Account.
  2. Ping Your Article: Start off by visiting Google Ping. Enter your article name and URL. Click on “check all” and then “Start Ping”. This will help search engines know that you have added new content to your site.
  3. Upload Your Article to Reddit: Start by visiting Reddit. On the right-hand side, it will say “Submit a New Link”. It will then ask you to sign in or create an account (it’s free). Once you’re signed in enter the article’s URL and click “suggest a title”. This will automatically fill in the title section for you. Then choose a subreddit (relevant category). Enter the code and press submit.
  4. Update Your Site Map: If you do not already have a site map I would recommend setting one up. Each time you add new content to your site you need to update the site map. I use Google XML Sitemaps. Hover over settings and click on XML-sitemap. On the 6th line, there should be blue text that says “rebuild the site map”. Once you click on this the new site map will notify the search engines of the changes.

Follow these 4 steps to help let search engines and your followers know that there is new content on your website. If you do anything else to help inform people please comment below.
