Survey Junkie Review: Scam or Do They Really Pay?
Survey Junkie is a survey site that’s become pretty popular over the last few years. I decided to write a review to see if you can make money with this site or if it’s a scam.
From what I found, Survey Junkie does have some surveys available for you to take, but there isn’t anything special about this surveys site.
They have a limited amount of surveys available, and it looks like the real goal is to get you to sign up for other surveys sites.
In this Survey Junkie Review, I’ll cover how it works, how they pay, complaints, and if this sites a scam.
Survey Junkie Review
Site: Survey Junkie
Type: Survey Site
Score: 60 out of 100
Verdict: Legitimate, Not Recommended
In this Survey Junkie Review, I gave them a bad score but did mark them legitimate. This site used to be a huge set up a few years ago. They have improved it to where it’s at least a site that will pay you, but it’s not a site I recommend.
There’re much better options to take surveys; you can see a long list at the Extra Income Sites I Recommend.
How Does Survey Junkie Work?
1) Sign Up For Free
The first step is to sign up for Survey Junkie; occasionally you may get an error that the limit for the day has been reached (never a good sign right off the bat). But if you don’t get the error it’s easy to join via email or Facebook.
2) Complete Profile/Unlock Surveys
Once you get inside the members area, all surveys are locked until you complete your profile. Once you take all of the profile surveys (you’ll earn points for taking these), more surveys unlock.
Continue to take surveys to build up your point balance. Most surveys are 5-30 minutes and pay 50-250 points ($.50-$2.50).
3) Cash Out Points
Once you earn 1,000 points, you can redeem them for a PayPal payment or e-gift cards.
How Does Survey Junkie Pay?
To get paid by Survey Junkie you’ll need to earn 1,000 points, which is equivalent to $10 USD. You can choose to get paid via PayPal or e-gift card.
Once you request a payout, you’ll receive it within 24 hours, but it’s usually immediately.
Survey Junkie Complaints
Not Many Surveys
When you first join Survey Junkie, all the surveys are locked until you complete your profile. Once you complete your profile, more surveys do open up, but there’s still a pretty limited supply.
There’re enough surveys to reach the $10 cash out amount, but it won’t be quick.
Wants You To Sign Up For Other Panels
As you can see from my first complaint, there’re not many surveys available at Survey Junkie, which leads me to believe the real goal is to get you to sign up for other survey panels. They have a tab of other survey panels they recommend.
Honestly, all the sites on there are legitimate, so it’s not a huge deal, but why join Survey Junkie when sites like Swagbucks (on their list) are better.
Used to be Pretty Sketchy
Survey Junkie used to be a lot more sketchy the first time I came across it. They had one of those earnings calculators that showed you how much you could make if you spent an hour taking $20 surveys (not realistic earnings). They also made you go through pages of offers before you could even sign up.
A few years back the whole idea was to collect emails and have you sign up for other survey sites. I can still see that signing up for other sites is part of their goal, but they’ve updated their site with realistic earning expectations and now at least have some surveys you can take on your own.
Is Survey Junkie A Scam?
Survey Junkie has made improvements and became less “scammy” over the last few years to where I can say it’s legitimate. With that being said, it’s not a survey site that I recommend. There’s nothing special here, and the lack of surveys is a major concern.
My recommendation is to stay away from this survey site and check out the Extra Income Sites I Use. These sites are all legitimate, pay me, and I use them all the time.
Thank you for reading my Survey Junkie Review. Do you think this site’s a scam? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below!
