As a YouTuber you want your channel to be successful and to grow into a huge channel. Maybe your want this because you want to become YouTube famous or maybe you’re in it for the very small amount of money you will make from ads each month.
Either way one of the main ways people measure the success of a YouTube channel is through the subscriber count. In this article I will be going over my thoughts on how important are YouTube Subscribers!
Is It Just A Number or Something More?
First off, I said earlier that people measure the success of YouTube channels based on the number of subscribers they have. Generally you can say that’s a good way of measuring success. The more YouTube Subscribers usually means more views, more ad revenue, and better content.
With that being said, if your just starting out, subscribers count is seriously just a number! There are some major advantages of having a huge subscription list, but the reason people have a ton of subscribers is because they have put their focus on getting people to their videos by other means of just being a subscriber.
I’m going to say it. Subscriber count does not matter when your starting out! Focus on getting your videos ranked high in Google and YouTube. That will be what rolls in the subscribers!
Focus on Rankings, but Here Are The Advantages Of Having Subscribers!
I told you to start focusing on ranking your videos and that will bring you the subscribers you’re wanting, but this article would not be complete if I didn’t share some of the advantages of having a large subscription base.
If you have been a member of YouTube for any time you probably have subscribed to a few channels. Once you subscribe to a channel don’t you see that channels videos everywhere? Well that is YouTube working to show you content that they think you will be interested in based on you clicking the little red subscribe button.
Now let’s think of that from a channel owners perspective. Someone clicks on the subscribe button and YouTube advertises your channel for you!
Once people subscriber to your channel your videos will automatically be placed on their homepage, YouTube will send out email updates when you upload new content, and I have even heard your videos rank higher in search if someone is already subscribed to you!
What Does That Mean For You?
Automatic traffic to your videos!

You may think I sound like a hypocrite. I said don’t worry about your subscriber count, and then went on to tell you that having subscribers gives you great benefits. Let me clarify, when your starting out you will have a low subscriber count. If your focused on subscriber count only, your going to be very disappointed. You can’t make people hit the subscribe button! Focus on bringing in traffic to your videos based on rankings within YouTube and Google. That my friends is what will grow your subscription list the fastest!
