WritersAccess Review: Another Freelance Writing Scam?

WritersAccess is a site for freelance writers to pick up freelance writing work.

They currently only accept writers in the US with a PayPal account for payments.

There’s a short application process that requires writing examples, but if you write well, you’ll have no issues getting accepted.

In this Writers Access review, I’ll cover the requirements, application, how it works, how much they pay, and complaints.

WritersAccess Requirements

The main requirements are living in the US and having a PayPal account for payments. Of course, you’ll need a computer with internet access to pick up and complete writing jobs.

They require writing samples, so you’ll also need to be a good writer to get approved and to ever make money on this site.

WritersAccess Application

The application at Writers Access is fairly simple but does require you to provide writing examples. You’ll fill out your contact information and location. After, you’ll submit a resume and links to your writing examples. This can be your blog, online portfolio, or social accounts that have writing examples on them.

Once you submit your application, they will review your writing and assign you a level of 2-6 stars. Once you’re approved, you can begin to pick up freelance writing jobs.

They do say that it can take up to two weeks to hear if you’re approved and at what level.

How Does It Work?

Once you’re accepted and assigned a writing level, you can pick up writing jobs. You can log on at any time and claim writing jobs that’re at your level or below.

Once you’re done, submit the work and the client has three days to approve it. If they don’t within three days, it’s automatically accepted.

The client does have the opportunity to pay you bonuses if they liked your work and they’ll rate your work, which is very important.

Once the client rates your writing, it affects your writing level. If you produce high-quality work, your writing level will improve, which means higher pay and more jobs available.

Writers Access Pay

At Writers Access pay is dependent on your writing level. Here’s the breakdown:

  • 2-star: 1.4 cents per word
  • 3-star: 2.8 cents per word
  • 4-star: 4.2 cents per word
  • 5-star: 5.6 cents per word
  • 6-star: 7 cents per word

Keep in mind that you’ll only get paid per word requested in the job. For example, if the job is for 800 words and you write 850, you get paid at your writing level for 800 words.

Writers Access pays twice a month via PayPal. You’re hired as an independent contractor if you earn more than $600 in a tax year you’re required to claim the income come tax time.

Writers Access Complaints

Overall, the feedback on Writers Access is very positive. The complaints that come up seem to be not much work available and when writing jobs are posted they are claimed very quickly.

As long as you’re not relying on this site for all of your freelance writing work, you should be happy with the limited writing jobs available.

Is WritersAccess A Scam?

WritersAccess is not a scam, the pay is fair compared to other sites, and the feedback is mostly positive. If you’re interested in finding freelance writing jobs, this seems to be a good option. Keep in mind there’re limited jobs, so don’t rely on this site for all your work.
