Should You Put Ads on Your Business Website?

Do you own your own local business? Wonder if you should put ads on a business website? The answer is NO WAY!!!! If you have your own business website you don’t want to be advertising other businesses.

The only ads should be the content describing your business and informing people about your business. Once again I want to stress if you are thinking about putting ads on a business website, DON’T!

Why You Should NOT Put Ads On a local Business Website

  1. You have worked hard to gain traffic to your site. If a visitor has found your site, they are probably looking for a service or product that you offer. Let your business be the only thing they hear about while on your page. When you add ads like Google AdSense. Related ads will pop up meaning that visitors might click on the ad and be taken somewhere else to find a product or service that you offer. You just lost a possible sale!
  2. Ads may distract people. When a visitor comes to your page looking for your product or service, they may be distracted by an ad featuring a brand new golf club they were searching for a few days ago. You want the visitors full attention on your website and ads may distract them from viewing your site.
  3. Most people find ads annoying. Visitors to your site might leave just because they see ads on your website. Some people view website ads as spam ads. If they feel like they are being spammed there is no way they will trust your website information, meaning they will never use your business!

Make sure you do not put ads on your local business website. Your website should promote your own business and not others. Keep growing your authority on the web and you will see benefits from having your own website
