Observa App Review: Is Being An Observer A Scam?

Learn How You Can Get Paid To Mystery Shop With The Observa App! Most Shops Pay $15 and Pay Immediately via PayPal!The Observa App is a new app that’s available for IOS and Android devices; that pays you to mystery shop. This is not a new concept I actually have a long list of apps that pay you to mystery shop, that you can check out.

Let me first say that Observa is only popular on the west coast at this time. On their site, they say that they plan on expanding throughout the US and Canada. But at this time, Observa is limited based on your location.

Even if there’re plenty of shops to complete, Observa is not going to be a big income. If you’re looking for a full-time income, check out My #1 Recommendation to learn how I made over $13,000 online last month!

If this doesn’t fit your location, make sure to check out the other ways you can make an extra income with your phone! If Observa works for you, keep reading to learn how the app works, how to get paid, the complaints, and if this app is a scam!

Observa Review

observa app reviewApp: Observa

Type: Mystery Shopping

Verdict: Legitimate

In this Observa App review, I marked it legitimate, but it is a location based app so it won’t apply to some readers. As long as you’re located on the West Coast of the US, you should have at least a few opportunities available to you.

Hopefully, as the app grows, more opportunities will become available, and more people can download the app.

Overall, if you’re on the west coast, you’ll probably enjoy this app!

How Does Observa Work?

1) Install The App For Free

Observa is available on IOS and Android devices for free. Once you install the app, sign up with your PayPal email so you can get paid. You will need to enable location sharing to use the app.

2) Find Available Opportunites

Once you join, you’ll see a map (or list) of all the nearby mystery shops; they call these opportunities. You can clearly see where the opportunity is located, how much it pays, and how long you have to complete the opportunity.

If you click on one, you can see a description of the shop that lays out exactly what’s required of you. Most shops pay $5-$15 and only take 10-15 minutes of your time. Most shops require you to visit a store, find a certain product, answer a few questions about it, and take a few pictures to verify you were there.

3) Complete Opportunity

Once you find an opportunity you’d like to complete, you can accept it. Once you accept an opportunity, you have 2 hours to submit the work. Make sure to follow the requirements and instructions exactly so you get paid. Once you’re done, submit the opportunity. The Observa team will review your work and approve it within 24 hours.

4) Get Paid

What sets Observa apart from similar apps is they pay via PayPal immediately after your opportunity is approved!

How Does Observa Pay?

Observa pays via PayPal. Make sure to sign up with your PayPal email, because that’s where they send the PayPal payments. Payments are released once you complete an opportunity and it’s approved.

Payments show up in your PayPal account within 24 hours of opportunity approval.

Observa Feedback/Complaints

Limited Opportunities

By far the biggest complaint is the limited location availability and the number of opportunities they have available. Hopefully, the app expands across the US soon, but at this time it’s basically west coast only.

Even on the west coast, there’s a limited amount of opportunities. This doesn’t mean there won’t be an opportunity close to you, but the chance of having several near you is slim!

App Issues

In both the Play Store and App Store reviews say the app doesn’t work. It seems like the issues are based on opening the app and joining, not failing while completing an opportunity.

I installed and used the app completely fine on my iPhone, but you might experience issues.

Is the Observa App A Scam?

The Observa App is not a scam. If you complete an opportunity, you’ll get paid via PayPal within 24 hours, but the app is limited on locations and opportunities. If you’re interested in getting paid to mystery shop, I’d say download the app and give it a shot, the worst that will happen is the app won’t work, or nothing is available near your location.

This app won’t apply to most of my readers, but don’t forget to check out the other ways you can make an extra income on your phone!

  1. It is important for you to let your readers know that Observa is regularly engaging in wage theft. Data that is uploaded through their app is being deleted and then they refuse to pay you. Additionally, they are rejecting a large amount of projects that are being uploaded for unjust reasons. I use several other similar apps and have never had the amount of issues that I have had with Observa, including having many of their representatives directly lie to me. If you read the reviews on Google Play, you will see that it seems lots of other people who have taken the time to write reviews, have had similar problems. Your readers should proceed with caution when considering doing work for Observa.

    • Thank you for sharing Chris, that has always been the problem with these tasks apps. Maybe it’s all because people game the systems, but it ends up getting tons of tasks rejected and no support to really take care of it.
