Below I’ll list all three apps, give you a brief overview, show you proof they pay and leave links to my full reviews. If you have any questions, feel free to leave comments below.
Let’s get started here’re 3 ways to earn cash back when buying gas!
3 Ways To Earn Cash Back On Gas
GetUpSide – Read Review – East Coast Only – $.20/Per Gallon Bonus On First Purchase
GetUpSide is a new app that pays you up to $.20 per gallon cash back when you buy gas. At this time it’s only available on the East coast of the US, but don’t worry, they are expanding. If you’re interested, you can still sign up, and they will let you know when they are in your area.
All you need to do is visit a participating gas station. You’ll be able to see how much the gas is typically and how much of a discount you’ll get per gallon. When you get gas, make sure to get a receipt and take a picture of the receipt inside the app.
Once you earn $10, you can get paid via gift card and PayPal.
My favorite way to get paid is via PayPal and here’s proof that GetUpSide pays:

TruNow – Read Review – Anywhere in the US
TruNow is another option to get paid 1%-2% cashback when you purchase gas. TruNow is available anywhere in the US and works at most gas stations. I live in a small town, and it works at all gas stations here.
Similar to GetUpSide all you need to do is get gas, save your receipt, and take a picture of your receipt to earn. At partnered gas stations you’ll earn 2%, and you’ll earn 1% at all other stations.
TruNow also pays you to purchase coffee and other items at gas stations, so even if you don’t get gas, you still have the possibility of earning cash back.
Once you earn $5, you can get paid via PayPal or use it to pay for gas at partnered stations.

Ibotta – Read Review – Anywhere in the US – $10 Sign-Up Bonus!
Ibotta is an app that pays you cash back when you grocery shop, but they also offer rebates at gas stations and occasionally have special offers where you can get paid to buy gas.
For example, Ibotta might pay you $.50 to buy a 16 oz coke product at a gas station. Again, getting paid to buy gas isn’t always available, but you can always earn cash back from buying items at a gas station.
The process is very similar to the other apps. Make a purchase and take a picture of the receipt inside the Ibotta app to get paid.
Once you earn $20, you can get paid via PayPal, Venmo, and popular gift cards.
