Transcription for Everyone (TFE) is based in Israel and contracts only college educated, English-speaking transcribers. They claim to have general and legal transcription work available regularly. In this review, I will dig into the opportunity they offer for work at home transcribing, and I will determine if it is a scam or legit.
If you’re interested in working at home as a transcriber, we highly recommend the course at Transcribe Anywhere. The course will teach you how to find your own high-paying jobs and build your own work from home transcription business. If you’re not sure about the course, make sure to at least check out their free guide to transcribing.

Transcription For Everyone Application Process
If you want to apply to transcribe for TFE, go here. Just about one paragraph down, you’ll see a blue hyperlink that says “send us your CV today.” Click there to get the application started. It looks like the form is their standard contact form.
There is a place to upload documents. Be sure to upload your resume and a cover letter detailing why you would make a good addition to the TFE team.
After submitting your resume, you will be redirected to a page, Welcome to TFE. Included you will find the standard agreement which you will sign and return. Once the confidentiality agreement is returned, TFE will send you a packet consisting of testing and training materials. Keep in mind that they are evaluating you every step of the way. They will critique your testing materials, and they want to see that you are open to feedback and that you learn from the feedback by applying it to the next exercise.
How Much Does Transcription For Everyone Pay?
TFE pays by the page, and they give per page bonuses for quality work.
They claim that typists can earn up to $25 per hour. Most will start out making as little as $5 per hour, but as you get better, you will move up to $10-$15 per hour. This is based on how quickly you can get through a project. Typists who prove themselves by producing solid documents will be promoted and therefore earn even more.
There are 3-4 different roles that are performed for each document, and each role is paid per page.
- Transcribing $0.45/page
- Editing $0.45/page
- Compiling $0.05-$0.10/page + $0.90 per cover/index/cert page (compiling is only for legal projects)
- Proofer $0.28/page
Everyone starts out only doing audio transcription. However, you can be promoted to editor or self-editor, and you will be allowed to edit your own work. Ultimately, and ideally, you will complete all 4 steps and earn up to $1.28 per page.
Do I pay to Work for Transcription For Everyone?
No, you don’t pay to work for TFE. They offer free training and many opportunities to further your skills.
TFE has developed unique transcription software to aid in the transcription process. If you want these tools, you will pay for them, but they are NOT required to work for TFE. These tools are also available for any transcriber, any company. They have 4 programs that range in price from $54 to $90.
They also have a Professional Transcription Course which costs $99. Again, this course is NOT a requirement for working at TFE. And anyone can take the course.
According to a review on Indeed, the free training provided by TFE is non-paid training. However, the training is really good and only lasts a couple of days.
Transcription For Everyone Schedule
TFE wants you to have at least 1 hour of availability per day, three times per week.
According to some reviews I found on Indeed, your schedule will be flexible. Someone said they use a spreadsheet which is public to employees where you can edit your own availability.
It sounds like most of the TFE transcribers are working 10 or more hours per week.
Transcription For Everyone Feedback
I didn’t find much in the way of job reviews, but I found a couple on Indeed.
Someone complained about having to purchase supportive materials in order to work for TFE. But I clarified this with TFE and the supporting materials they offer are not required in order to work for them. Also, you will need certain “tools” for any company you want to transcribe for, such as noise-canceling earphones, or a foot peddle. This is something you should be aware of going into it, but it will be the same for other transcription companies as well.
The other review was the complete opposite and very happy with TFE. They said the platform TFE uses is “revolutionary” and promotes continued growth and promoting from within.
Is Transcription For Everyone a Scam?
Based on my research, TFE is NOT a scam! If you already have experience transcribing, or you’re ready to give it a try, TFE sounds like a great company to work for. I contacted them to get more information and received prompt and pleasant responses from them, which always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling about a company. Keep in mind; transcription is a skill that takes time to develop. If you’re willing to give it time, you can be successful at TFE. Here’s the link to get started.
Again, if you’re interested in working at home as a transcriber, we highly recommend the course at Transcribe Anywhere.
