In this review, I’ll cover the requirements, application, pay, and what others are saying about this job.
Landmark Associates Requirements
There’re requirements to become a transcriber at Landmark Associates. The first being located in North America.
They say that experience is beneficial, but as long as you can pass their transcription test, you’ll be considered for the position.
Obviously, you’ll need a computer and high-speed internet connection. It does look like you’ll need to have your own transcription software and most transcribers use a high-quality headset and foot pedal.
Amazon has a package of all three for $100.
Landmark Associates Application
To start the application process, you’ll need to take their transcription test. They provide instructions and a formatting guide for the test transcription. The instructions say that the audio file is 15 minutes long, but to only transcribe the first 10 minutes of the file.
Once you take the test, you need to email it to the provided email on their website along with some other information. They request that you include in the email (taken directly off their website):

- The completed test transcript.
- A list of other clients for whom you have completed projects (previously or currently).
- How you found out about this opportunity.
- If available, a link to you or your company’s Facebook page/website.
- The number of minutes you would like to transcribe per week.
- The types of insurance coverages you or your company currently have in place (for example, errors and omissions).
- A list of the equipment you or your company uses. Examples of equipment might include:
- Foot pedal
- High definition headphones
- Transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, Start/Stop, etc.)
- An upgraded sound card
- MS Excel and Word
- DSL or Cable Modem

I could not find any information on how long it takes them to reply or if they reply if they’re not hiring.
Landmark Associates Pay
Unfortunately, I could not find any information on the pay rate for Landmark Associates. In the forums, they are clear that they won’t disclose the rate until a contract offer is made. With that being said, there’re some posts in the forums saying that the pay is fair if you’re a fairly new transcriber.

I do know that they pay twice a month via direct deposit.
Landmark Associates Schedule
The schedule transcribing for Landmark Associates is very flexible. From what I can find, you let them know how much you can work and they give you work to fill that time.
There are some recent reviews of not having enough work to go around, so this might be more of a part-time transcription job.
Is Transcribing at Landmark Associates A Scam?
Transcribing at Landmark Associates is not a scam, there’s feedback that they always pay on time. But, it seems like some of the newer reviews complain about over staffing and not enough work available. I highly recommend reading some forums and the glass door listing before applying.
If you think this is the company for you, you can begin the application process and learn more on their website.

Dear Landmark Associates;
My name is Hailekiros Kifle. I was born into bi-lingual family and I grew up speaking Tigrigna and Amharic fluently. I also started speaking English from an early age due to exposure to school. And, I have been translating documents of all technical areas from English to Amharic, Tigrigna and Oromo and vice versa for more than 7 years. I deliver tasks professionally with the expected quality, excellence and on time. I have excellent written and oral communication skills and I work hard to keep my clients satisfied in a given task.
I work with CAT tools such as SDL Trados, Memsource cloud, MemoQ, and many more others. I have enough knowledge of the latest technologies in this field.
If you are looking for a professional translator/Interpreter/transcriber with this kind of qualifications, then you need to look no further. You will see from my resume. I am available for a free test so that you can assess who you are working with.
Thank you very much for your kind consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Hailekiros Kifle(PHO)
