Get Transcribed Review: Is It A Scam?

Get Transcribed Hires Transcribers Without Any Experience! Plus a Free Course To Learn How To Master Freelance Transcription!NO LONGER AVAILABLE CHECK OUT THESE OTHER TRANSCRIPTION COMPANIES

Get Transcribed is a rather new transcription service site, started in 2012, that hires work at home transcribers. The good thing about Get Transcribed is they accept complete beginners as long as you can type fast. This is a good site to earn some transcription experience and gain the trust of clients.

In this Get Transcribed review I’ll cover the requirements, application, how it works, the pay, and the complaints with this company.

Working at home as a transcriber is a legitimate way to make money online, but I prefer to earn a much more passive income online, check out My #1 Recommendation, it’s how I made over $13,000 online last month!

If you have any interest in transcribing from home, make sure to check out the course at TranscribeAnywhere. The course will teach you how to transcribe and how to find high-paying transcription jobs. You can also sign up for their Free 7-day course just to make sure Transcription is right for you!

Get Transcribed Requirements

Before you apply to Get Transcribed, there’re a few requirements. You’ll need to be able to type at least 60 words per minute with no errors, be a native English speaker, and have a PayPal account to receive payments. It says that they will accept native English speakers outside the US.

They also list some preferred skills that would make working as a transcriber easier but say they’re not requirements. These include 80 words per minute, two years of transcription experience, writing or editing background, and fast internet researching skills.

If you meet the basic requirements, you can apply.

*Most transcription sites require you to have a foot pedal and headset. This is the foot pedal I recommend and here’s a great headset on with a 5-star rating on Amazon.

Get Transcribed Application Process

On the website, it lists an email that you should contact if you’re interested in becoming a transcriber. The email should include information about you, why you want to be a transcriber, and you experience/skills if you have any.

The site says that he’d rather have a conversation with you to see if you’re a good fit, rather than have you take a test, but I’ve seen in the forums that some people have had to take a test before being accepted.

It also says that if you do not hear back within 4-6 weeks to resend the email.

What is Transcribing Here Like?

The website clearly states that it’s your job to notify them when you’re available to transcribe. You can complete work on your own time, but it needs to be done in a timely fashion (I’d say this means 24 hours).

They have an expectation of you being somewhat active. If you know you can’t transcribe for a few weeks you need to let them know so they can plan the amount of volume they can handle.

As you complete, transcription work your earnings are added to your account balance.

Get Transcribed Pay

Get Transcribed says that they pay their members $.25 per audio minute transcribed. From some forum posts most say they’re getting paid $.23.

Payments are made once a month via PayPal. You must have $100 in earnings to request a payment. If you don’t meet the minimum amount, your earnings roll over to the next month.

Get Transcribed Complaints

$100 Cash-Out Amount

It’s crazy that you have to earn $100 in earnings before you get paid, especially when you’re getting paid such a low rate per audio minute transcribed.

If you do the math, that’s over 400 minutes of audio transcribed before seeing any of your earnings. When it comes to low pay work, like beginner transcription work, I’d like to see a cash out amount of $10-$15 or less.

Is Get Transcribed A Scam?

NO LONGER AVAILABLE CHECK OUT THESE OTHER TRANSCRIPTION COMPANIES

Get Transcribed is not a scam. For a site that accepts beginners, the pay is pretty much standard but is still considered low. I do like the idea of the site, which is for newbies to get experience, but the pay rate reflects that.

Overall Get Transcribed is legitimate, but it’s not the best option for everyone. If you’d like to learn more or to apply, visit GetTranscribed.com to get started!

  1. Hello there Brok. I really enjoyed the article only to find that gettranscribed does not exist. Which other “scam free” websites do you recommend?
