Let’s get started with this Get A Copywriter Review!
Get A Copywriter Requirements
- You must be 18 years of age or older to enter into an agreement with Get A Copywriter.
- You must be a resident of US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Republic of Ireland, or other EU countries. Your PayPal must match your country of residence, but it is OK if you are a world traveler! You don’t need to reside in your country of residence at all times.
- You will also need to accept the Terms of Service, which states that writers give up the rights to their content as soon as it is approved by the client. Some other things to note from the Terms of Service include:
- You must receive all payments through the Get A Copywriter site. Get A Copywriter earns its fees through transactions that take place on their site; any attempt to circumvent the payment process on their site, by either the writer or the contractor, is prohibited.
- Get A Copywriter reserves the right to seek reimbursement from you if they discover transaction errors, or if they receive a chargeback from the client’s payment processor.
- By agreeing to the Terms of Service, you acknowledge that you can be terminated from the use of the site at any time, for any reason.
Get A Copywriter Application Process
If you want to apply, go here to complete and submit your application. Here’s what you’ll find on the application:
- Name
- Country
- City
- State
- You’ll create a password
- LinkedIn profile
- Blog or website URL
Before you agree to the Service Agreement and Terms of Service, you will write several paragraphs about yourself. That’s all there is to it!
Tips on how to increase your chances of being accepted:
- Provide as much info as you can that is relevant to you being a successful writer for them
- Include links to your published content or your portfolio
Only about 20% of applicants are accepted, so be as thorough as you can be with the written portion of your application. Allow 1 to 4 weeks for them to review your application.
After you submit your application, you are immediately in the Get A Copywriter portal. You can select specialties to apply to. When you select a specialty, you will be asked to write a short piece, and they tell you exactly what to write about.
I chose the Health and Fitness Industry. It says you WILL retain the copyright to the content that you write as part of your application. They want 300-400 words for a blog post on yoga for runners. I need to create a catchy headline, use short paragraphs and bullet lists, include at least two links as references, and write in the second person voice using pronouns like you, your, and yours. If you’ve written a blog post before, you should be familiar with the requirements.
How Much Does Get A Copywriter Pay?
According to the Terms of Service, and per usual for the contract and freelance jobs we review, as the writer, you are responsible for any income taxes or other government reporting.
The current minimum payout is $15, A$15, C$15, or £15. You will automatically receive earned funds to the account listed in your account settings.
Unfortunately, this is all I could find regarding payments.
When Does Get A Copywriter Pay?
Get A Copywriter currently pays via PayPal, Bill.com, and Transferwise. As long as your payout is at or over the minimum, it will automatically be processed every Friday, the week following when the project is accepted by the client. When you are accepted as a writer, make sure you go into account settings to set up your payment preference.
Get A Copywriter Schedule?
Your schedule will be flexible. You only get work that you pitch, so you aren’t automatically assigned anything.
If you want to go on vacation or take a holiday break, you can change your email notification frequency settings if you want, but again, you’ll only receive work if you pitch something.
According to their FAQ’s, writers earn about 42% of their pitches. So that’s almost every other pitch, or 1 of every 2 pitches you send to clients.
Get A Copywriter Feedback
Here’s what I found on Glassdoor.
Pros:
- The owner believes in work-life balance
- They have a great team connection, even though everyone is remote
- The company values the feedback of the team and actually implements suggestions from the team
- Great flexibility
Cons:
- None reported!
Is Writing for Get A Copywriter a Scam?
Based on my research, writing for Get A Copywriter is not a scam! If you’re a writer, go here to submit your application. Remember to go in and apply for a specialty too!
