In this BKA Content Review I’ll cover the requirements, application process, pay, schedule, and feedback!

BKA Content Requirements

The criteria to apply for BKA Content:

  • US citizen (or green card)
  • Microsoft Word
  • Internet access
  • Email address must be a Gmail address
  • Ability to write at least 2,000 words per week
  • PayPal account
  • Firm grasp of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • College level writing

In addition to these requirements, you must be able to meet deadlines. You also need to be honest, dependable, and self-motivated. This is nothing new for someone who wants to work from home.

BKA Content Application Process

You start the application process with a test. The test is to check out your skills on basic punctuation and grammar. You’ll have 20 minutes to answer 22 questions. When you complete the quiz, you’ll be given the next steps to complete the process. I was immediately told there are no current openings, but that I could continue the test if I want to get on a waiting list for future openings.

The application starts with basic name and email, how you heard about BKA Content, and what position you’re applying for. There are four options:

  • SEO Content Writer – this is basic SEO articles, blogs, photo descriptions, and classified ads
  • Premium Content Writer – this is writing informative blog posts, social media posts, and website meta descriptions
  • Web Page Content Writer – this would be writing job descriptions, CVs, industry-specific blog posts, web pages, press releases, and video scripts
  • Product Description Writer – this is writing product descriptions and category descriptions

Next, you are asked:

  • Are you a citizen or have a green card
  • Do you agree to their Terms of Use
  • Can you write 2,000 words per week
  • Do you have Microsoft Word
  • Do you agree to write two 350-word pieces as part of the application process (I reluctantly answered yes so that I could give you details on the process!)

Next is the test. You have to get 80% correct or better on the questions to move on to the next step.

Several questions were asking which sentence was punctuated correctly, or which had correct grammar. There was a question about rules of parallel structure. I found the test to be quite difficult. Unlike other writing tests I’ve taken, the sentences weren’t the same. You’re not looking at the same sentence 3 times with different punctuation. It’s 3 completely different sentences, and you have to decide which is correct.

At the end of the test, it tells you immediately if you passed or failed. Ironically, I did not pass. I only got 55% correct. I’m college educated, a Bachelor’s and a Master’s, but not in writing. And it was painfully obvious after taking this test! Fortunately, I can try to redeem myself again in 3 months.

How Much Does BKA Content Pay?

Most BKA contracted writers earn $8-$14 per hour throughout the learning process. After training, BKA writers average up to $12-$18 per hour or more. This all depends on the writer’s skills and typing speed.

Everyone starts at 1.3 cents per word during the training process, and they can move up from there with 5 cents per word being the max. If you do the math, for a 500-word article, that’s $6.50. If you climb the ranks and get up to 5 cents per word, that comes out to $25 for a 500-word article.

  1. These writing opportunities definitely interest me. I’ll have to keep this in mind!

I’ll admit, writing for someone else’s profit would grate on me for a while, especially as an affiliate marketer, but having a dependable stop-gap while I’m trying to build up my business sounds really helpful.

Do you by any chance know of an organization that will pay someone remotely to write thorough movie reviews? Thanks.

    • Hey Jordan thanks for reading. I always recommend blogging over freelance writing, but some people don’t want to run a blog. Freelance writing is a great way to get paid to write without having a website.

The go to method in my opinion is to write for you own blog and then freelance write when it’s necessary to supplement your income.
