How Copywriter Today Works
Copywriter Today offers clients the following article word counts, and they want you to try to complete the article within the allotted period, even when research is required.
- 400 words – complete in 30 minutes or less (Must be returned in 1 business day)
- 800 words – complete in 60 minutes or less (Must be returned in 2 business days)
- 1500 words – complete in 90 minutes or less (Must be returned in 3 business days)
- Social media posts – complete in 30 minutes or less (due date will be assigned by your manager)
- They understand that at times, you might need to take longer than the targeted completion times. But they want you to aim for these times when completing assignments. (You’ll want to aim for these times in order to make the most money possible.)
- Your production manager will let you know exactly when your work is due back. Typically, work is expected within 24-48 hours of when you receive an assignment notice via email in the project management portal. They ask that you watch your email throughout the day in order to respond quickly to assignments.
What You Might Write About for Copywriter Today
Even though they want you to try to get jobs done in a short amount of time, you might still need to do some research in order to provide good content. Here is a list of some things you might be asked to write about:
- How to Manage Your Time
- Why You Should Donate to Environmental Preservation
- How Technology Affects Our Education System
- Why You Should Buy Local
If and when possible, Copywriter Today tries to give you jobs from the same clients so that you can write about similar content. But it won’t always be possible.
Copywriter Today Requirements
You must be based in the US to be a writer for Copywriter Today. Also, you will need to have a reliable and stable internet service on Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
Familiarity with AP Style writing will be a plus.
Copywriter Today Application Process
If you want to apply to write for Copywriter Today, click here to get started. Scroll down until you see “What’s Next.” You’ll give your name, phone, email, and you need to attach a writing sample.
They also want to know how many hours you can work each week. You need to confirm that you have a stable and reliable internet connection Monday through Friday during business hours. And finally, they have an open field for you to ask any questions that you have.
After you submit your info, you will be redirected to a video which will immediately start playing. They welcome you and tell you about the next steps in the application process.
In the video, they point out that Copywriter Today is, in fact, hiring right now! Also, and very important, they said that when considering someone for a writing position, they look at:
- how quickly you follow through with the remainder of the application
- and how thoroughly you follow the directions.
The instructions are very detailed. The second part of your application requires you to write 2-400 word articles. For this article, they give you 3 options for each. This will take some time, but do it right away and follow the directions!
How Much Does Copywriter Today Pay?
This is a contractor position. You will receive a 1099 and be responsible for your income taxes.
Copywriter Today claims their writers earn between $300 and $800 per week. After you submit your info for the application process, if they are interested in your skills, they will contact you. At that time, you will learn more about the pay rate.
According to step 2 of the application process, writers start at $12 per hour.
Example of pay: They expect 800-word articles to take you 1 hour, so you will be paid for 1 hour, or $12. But you will have 2 business days to submit your article. The faster you can research and write, the better you will be paid, and the more work you can take on. But you have to follow the formatting instructions, as well as following the process for submitting your assignment.
Once you have the hang of the formatting, you will also go faster. So give it some time and practice, and you can be successful!
When Does Copywriter Today Pay?
Copywriter Today pays by direct deposit. You will be paid weekly on Fridays for all work completed and invoiced before 7:00 AM Eastern Time on Mondays.
Copywriter Today Schedule
You are expected to watch your email throughout the day, so you can respond quickly to your assignments.
If you plan to leave town or be unavailable for a few days, that’s ok. You just need to let Copywriter Today know about it so they can assign your orders to another writer while you’re unavailable.
Copywriter Today Feedback
I hate when I can’t find any job reviews. But I did find some reviews of the Copywriter Today service and the users seem to be happy with the content and service they receive from Copywriter Today.
I’m not sure how someone is making $800 per week while writing for $12 per hour. There must be a sliding scale for longer pieces, or bonuses, or rate increases over time. As for most work at home opportunities, you need to be patient and give yourself time to figure out what you’re doing.
Is Writing for Copywriter Today a Scam?
Even though I didn’t find any reviews to back this up, based on my research, I believe that Copywriter Today is not a scam.
